CRS Secures Contract for Offshore Development of the Irena Gas Field

CRS is pleased to announce the signing of a new contract for the Irena 3 fixed offshore platform and its associated subsea pipeline, Irena 3 – Izabela North, part of the Irena gas field development in the northern Adriatic.

The Irena gas field lies within the Izabela concession, operated by Edina d.o.o., a 50:50 joint venture between Energean and INA. Energean holds a 70% working interest in the concession. The field is located in shallow waters, at a depth of around 45 metres.

The execution phase of the project is scheduled to commence in November 2025, with first gas expected in the first half of 2027. Peak production is anticipated at around 8–10 mmscfd gross (1,400–1,700 boe/d).

The Irena 3 platform will be an unmanned facility consisting of a piled monopod substructure with a three-deck topside. The installation will host gas production, processing, and auxiliary systems to support efficient operations.

As part of the agreement, CRS will provide independent technical evaluation, statutory certification, and services as a Recognized Organization, in line with the authorization granted by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, under the Maritime Code of the Republic of Croatia and the Law on the Croatian Register of Shipping.

We are proud to support the Irena field development, a project that will contribute to the region’s energy supply. This contract reinforces CRS’s role as a trusted partner in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable offshore solutions.
