Technical documentation showing the construction, materials, scantlings and particulars of a ship's hull, equipment and machinery need to be submitted and approved to verify their compliance with applicable rules. 

Technical documentation may be submitted in paper or electronic format as per client’s choice.
In case of electronic submission, status of submitted documentation and approval process may be monitored online through the CRS software tool.
