EU MRV Emission report verification

EU MRV Emission report verification

The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union (EU) have adopted the regulation 2015/757 on the monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) of CO2 emissions from maritime transport, which entered into force in July 1 2015. MRV is a mandatory monitoring, communication and verification system for ships over 5000 gross tonnage which arrive at or depart from ports under the jurisdiction of an EU member state.

The shipping companies (ship-owner, ship manager or other organization or person responsible for ship) are required to submit the developed Monitoring plan to the accredited verifier, and collect information and develop the Emission Report in accordance with the assessed Monitoring Plan. After Emission Report verification accredited verifier issue Document of Compliance (DOC) which shipping companies must retain on board the ships.

CRS is accredited verifier (according to ISO 14065:2013) for EU MRV and provide services to: assess Monitoring Plans, verify Emission Reports and issue DOC.
